About Us
Solar Mtaani works to bring clean energy access and economic opportunity to Kenya’s most underserved communities. Our programmes target underprivileged youth from informal settlements, girls and teenage mothers, youth from rehabilitation centres, widows, and refugees, each group facing its own barriers to education, employment, and energy access.
We operate across Nairobi, Kiambu, Busia, and Kisumu counties, reaching communities in Kibera, Mathare, Dandora, and Kayole, as well as youth from rehabilitation centres in Kirigiti, Dagoretti, and Kabete. We also work in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kilifi, and Kajiado County, where we serve women refugees, widows, and schools without access to clean energy, delivering solar lamps, informal training, and off-grid solar installations.
